Simply Life.: Enjoying Sydney...

Hi All!
Hope everyone is doing great! I am currently still in Sydney, Australia. Dave's surgery has been pretty chaotic, with the surgeon having a mistake he is in the hospital tonight to have another surgery tomorrow. As for me, I am simply just enjoying life! I have spent some time at the local beaches, and also at the local mall. It has been fun for me to explore the life in Sydney. I hopped on my first every city bus yesterday, and caught a ride to the mall. After grabbing a few things, I decided to walk back. It was a great walk, mainly because I saw skinks, or really little lizards, on my walk back. I saw the first one, and was so excited, and right after that I saw 7 more! It was just great, they were too fast to catch though! They were only 1-3 inches long, so they were very cute! I want to catch one sometime, but I will have to be quick! After walking back, I decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at Curl Curl Beach. So I walked there, which isn't far at all. It was a great walk, and the beach was absolutely lovely! I was able to go for a nice swim, and then enjoy the sun! It was so odd swimming, because I had to walk out so far for the water to even get to my hips. The water seems like it would be deeper, but it's really not. It was neat to explore that, and jump a few waves. I was cautious to not go too far, as the current was strong.
I was also lucky enough to spend a day down at Manly Beach. Right across from the beach are a bunch of shops too (including an AMAZING ice cream parlor), so it was the best of both worlds. I spent time at the beach, watching lots of people surf, and also went shopping (barefoot!!!!) which was great. Finally, I enjoyed a cookies 'n cream ice cream cone :) I loved hanging out at Manly, and our group actually gets to stay in luxury apartments right on the Manly Beach for three nights coming up in March! I can't wait!
Well, duty calls and I must run Dave back to the hospital. I am getting used to this whole driving thing, a bit nervous to get back to the states and drive on the other side of the road actually. Mom, you would be so proud of me driving in Sydney. The drivers here can be pretty crazy, but I am doing really well :)
