Happy Valentines Day!!!

Happy Valentines Day from Sydney, Australia!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!  I wanted to give you all an update on my adventures… I am currently in Sydney, Australia, which I realize is not part of my itinerary.  Unfortunately, the group leader had to come back to Sydney for emergency eye surgery, fortunately for me it was a great opportunity for me to come over to meet with my cooperating teacher and check out the school I will start in (Habbord Primary School).  Sydney is an amazing city.  There are beaches everywhere, shops and café’s galore.  It is a  fun-filled city with lots to see and do.  I am definitely looking forward to spending more time here.
Today I had the opportunity of heading into the school to meet some of the staff during morning tea.  It was a great experience, and really made me excited for student teaching.  The school has over 900 students, which is the largest school I have EVER been in!  There are approximately 60-70 staff members.  I think it will be a great place to be.  One thing I was told is to bring my own tea cup J  I love it.
So Australia is definitely different than New Zealand.  There are so many neat birds here!!!!  I have seen the parakeet (which I had in an earlier post), a cockatoo, and many more.  The birds are all exotic and colorful, they are absolutely stunning.
I have been in Sydney since Friday, and will be returning to New Zealand by this Sunday.  So it is a very short trip to Aussie-land, but I will be back here again very soon (March 6th-ish).  I am looking forward to heading back to New Zealand to re-join my group!  I miss them a lot!!!

Lots of Love from Sydney, Australia!!! xoxo
