12:13am
So after skipping the outing to the black sand beach and the farm show in order to do some homework, I was itching for at least a small adventure. We still had our ropes out at the rappel site, and Dave had talked about rappelling at night before… So he said if enough people want to, that maybe we could do that. Well in ended up being four of us, Tanner, Bruce, Mandy and myself. Dave and Jim took us out anyways, and it was so cool!!!! We went rappelling down the same place, but it was dark, and the glowworms were glowing all around. There were more stars in the sky than I have ever seen before. It was perfect.
The six of us went hiking up to the rappel site. Once we got there we decided that Bruce would go first, then myself, then Mandy, and finally Tanner. It was so awesome!!! Going down in the dark just felt like a different experience. I had my head lamp on so I could see anything I looked at, but it was still so dark. When I made it to bruce he helped me stabalize in the water, and I unclipped. Once I was there Bruce had me shut off my light. It was an amazing site. The glowworms were all around us, looking like stars at every angle! It was so neat, and it was worth bearing the cold water! I am so glad that I went out to do that tonight. Tomorrow we are getting up for breakfast at 7:30am, and we are leaving the Maori by 9. Zorbing is an option, followed by white water rafting. It’s going to be a great day! Very busy though, so I am off to bed. Let’s hope my big spider doesn’t visit me again tonight….
Goodnight! xoxo
